Thai Nguyen University (TNU), in collaboration with Vietnamese Society of Soil Science (VSSS) will organize the 16th International Conference of the East and Southeast Asia Federation of Soil Science Societies (ESAFS 2024). It will be held at Thai Nguyen University’s Convention Center, on March 26-29, 2024.

  ESAFS conference is a series of scientific meetings organized every two years to share updated experience and knowledge among soil scientists, particularly within East and Southeast Asia countries. It is also a platform to promote R&D and disseminate the acquired knowledge and technology related to soil sciences. This series of ESAFS’s conference are organized to fulfill part of the above aims, rotates within member countries thus allowing equal participations of local soil scientists and fair site information exchange. ESAFS 2024 is the first time for Vietnam as an organizer.

To promote active participation of member societies and networking

To contribute towards sustainable development in the region through harmonization of agriculture and environment

ESAFS is dedicated to the exchange of recent advances in soil science among soil scientists within the East and Southeast Asian regions and between the region and all over the World. The conference provides a platform for interaction among scientists, academician, consultants, and policy makers, who are responsible for the research and technology transfer of soil science, fertilizer management, and plant nutrition in order to cope with the rapid industrial development. The Federation shall aim at promoting research in soil and related sciences and disseminating the acquired knowledge and technology for the benefit of the member societies in the region of East and Southeast Asia. By doing so, the Federation shall contribute to the sustainable development of the region through the harmonization of agricultural production and environmental protection. The Federation shall also aim at promoting the effective participation of member societies and of individual soil scientist of the region in the work of the International Union of Soil Sciences.
