About VSSS

Vietnam Society of Soil Science (VSSS) is member of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Association (VUSTA), established since 1991 to bring together soil scientists for sharing academic knowledge in the field of soil science. In addition, VSSS also has the function of consulting for the Goverment on policies and laws in land use management. VSSS actively participates in scientific research activities and technology transfer on surveying, classifying, mapping and evaluating soilresources, fertilizers, plant nutrition, soil and water environment, land use planning, management, rational use of land, water and related resources, poverty alleviation and sustainable agro-forestry development. Moreover, VSSS actively cooperates with other scientific and technical associations in the country and the International Soil Science Association to share knowledge and experience in the field of soil science.

VSSA is established on June 8, 1991 with the following tasks:

1. Propaganda and mobilization to unite people and organizations doing land work to join the Association.

2. Support members improve their qualifications in research, teaching, investigation, survey, application and management, planning, use use, protect and improve the land.

3. Protect members' legitimate interests in terms of achievements and experiences in invention, development-oriented publishing soil science in Vietnam, as the basis for the development of agriculture and national economic sectors.

4. Disseminate knowledge, quickly transfer to the population scientific and technical advances in soil, fertilizer as well as other relevant scientific and technical progress

5. Organize academic activities, seminars and visits to survey and summarize typical examples in order to improve the scientific level, skills and professional experience for members and Those who are interested in the work of the Association

6. Give Consultation and conduct necessary assessment for the Party and State authorities on topics and works, textbooks, terminology, land relations of the whole country or of large regions, giving opinions on policies and laws in land use management.

7. Participate in scientific, technical and socio-economic activities: Investigation, land classification, mapping and land classification assessment; fertilizer four, plant nutrition, soil and water environment; planning, land use plan, rational use management land, water and related resources for poverty reduction; sustainable agricultural development.

8. Organize the publication of information, magazines and other publications related to the association's activities in accordance with the State's regulations.

9. Cooperate with other domestic scientific and technical associations and the International Soil Science Association in accordance with the law
